If there is one kids label that seems to get it right every time it is Oobi! I can’t go past their great prints, gorgeous dresses, bloomers, hats, bibs etc! With their new season stock just out in stores, I have been keeping myself away to keep my credit card safe!
First of all a big apology for the silence on the blog front lately! As anyone with small babies/kids knows, that personal time on the laptop is a bit of a luxury, but I will endeavour to be more regular (and while I did buy some oatbran the other day I am talking about my posting frequency). So speaking of trying to grab time on my laptop with baby in tow (I run an online clothing store, and Chic Mums is actually just a hobby)… I don’t know how many of you will relate to trying to surf the net or answer emails with baby on your lap? It all started when I tried a bit of Texas Hold Em while breastfeeding in the early days. These days my curious little bundle will try and move my mouse, press the keys and all round try and be involved with the activity she sees her parents doing (more hours than they’d like).
Then I came across the coolest (but pricey) toy for your mini tech head… The OUiP! kids think/thing.
It is a handheld device (that bears a resemblence to an iPod by design) that is powered by motion and doesn’t require batteries. It then changes pictures and sounds (some pre-loaded or you can load your own) to entertain and educate your junior. Unfortunately is is yet to be released, and will most likely set you back some coin when it does, but this toy will surely get your gadget lust firing!

Every mum knows the value of a light-weight stroller when it comes to shopping and travel. Whilst the big chunky sports models are great for walks on the beach, ease of steering and roomy storage baskets… strollers will always win out when jumping on public transport and wheeling in and around cafes and boutiques! Silver Cross are an institution when it comes to strollers and prams, well known for their classic heritage designs. Gwen Stefani’s label Harajuku Lovers has a range of clothes for baby, and they are so cute featuring japanese style prints and characters. A top or onesie has long been on my radar for my daughter, but so far I haven’t made the purchase. They don’t seem as easy come by in Australia, so the best selection comes from international online stores.

I know I do favour posting about things for girls (seeing as I have one), but that doesn’t stop me admiring all the funky things out there for boys. My favourite brand for boys so far would have to be Munster Kids. And their new spring season is up on their website. Your little lad would fit right in at all the summer festivals in this type of trendy gear! Might be too cool for Wiggles concerts…

My friend Miriam has a very crafty and creative ability that always impresses “sewing-impaired” me. She has been working on some great bibs and baby shoes in cute and funky fabrics. These plates are so cool they would make great decorator items… but made with melamine they are perfect for kids to eat with, and then throw in the dishwasher. I found these ones at Sparkability in both monster and superhero styles.
I have been thinking about what kind of ride on toy to get my daughter for Christmas or her birthday (or just because)… and I stumbled across this very cool award winning design called the Scramble Bug.
