One in a million!

Sewing was never a strong point of mine, and my sisters and mum always teased me for my slap dash approach to hemming and finishing off. I often wish I was good with a needle and thread as then I could enjoy my own creations. If you are after some originality for your kids clothing, or funky liners for your pram then check out Purple Happy Tree where you can order custom made pieces that will be the envy of those around you without looking like carbon copies of everyone else!

Puppet show

I recently just bought my daughter a cute beanie from the brand Blabla… they do great knitted stuff including booties, beanies, toys etc, but how cool are these finger puppets?!

Louis Vuitton for Mummy

If you’ve got the coin, you can have the ultimate in posh-mum status with this LV Baby Bag from eLuxury. Probably one item you’d want to avoid getting spew on (now how does that work?)

Luxury Italian Design… D&G

I have never owned anything from Dolce & Gabbana and probably never will…. but I love how the big design houses make small designer items at smaller prices! How cute are these leopard print pieces from ChildrenSalon!!!

It’s a boy!

I am already getting sick of people getting the sex of your baby wrong, and making assumptions. Ok fair enough I don’t always dress my daughter in traditional girly clothes, but even on days when she is wearing frills, florals, pinks and bows all in the one outfit she has been called a “he”! So go figure! Twisted Twee have a cute play on the baby stereotypes with these “boy” and “girl” onesies just to confuse all the old biddies even further!!!

My house or yours?

When I was a kid I painstakingly designed and built a dolls house with the help of my dad (with the building), and my mum (with the decorating). I had thought about restoring it for my daughter until I found the Villa Sibi Dolls House! This Uber-toy will fit right in at any modern home. The Villa Sibi Bauhaus Dollshouse includes Birch dollhouse, garden, pool & poolhouse; along with Beech furniture shown. Available from Sparkability.

Easy as A…B…C!

Coming from a graphic design background, I am a sucker for minimalist design, monochromatic colour palettes, and sleek type faces. Not the kind of things you usually find for your kids. And while this fantastic book may not have been marketed as a kids book…. what better way for my young one to learn the alphabet!

I’ve pre-ordered my copy from Amazon.com, due for release in October 08.

In bloom!

I would have to say the highchair that wins the style and functionality award for me is the Bloom Fresco High Chair (available at Bebe Online). I haven’t got to the stage of needing a high chair yet, and have already purchased the $50 basic one from Ikea, but if I could have chosen any it would be this one! Not only does it look so funky it is suitable from birth to school age! It starts off as a sleeping pod, moves to high chair, and then transforms into an infant chair. Also check out the Loft version which sits up even higher if you want to use at high bench tops.
